The 2022 Frontier’s towing capacity will be at least 6,720 pounds. The base towing capability of the 2022 Tacoma is only 3,500 pounds. Additionally, the 2022 Frontier also has a greater cargo capacity than the Toyota Tacoma.

Both pickup trucks come equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto application suites. However, the 2022 Nissan Frontier’s multimedia system is controlled via a nine-inch touchscreen, while the 2022 Tacoma only has an eight-inch touchscreen. Nissan has also included a high-speed Wi-Fi hotspot in some 2022 Frontier trim levels. There is no 2022 Toyota Tacoma trim that has comparable capabilities.

The 2022 Frontier comes fitted with a forward-collision warning system, which is unique in its segment. Owners of the current Toyota Tacoma will have access to their own suite of safety systems, although not all features will be accessible on all trim levels, and not all will be comparable to those offered by the 2022 Nissan Frontier.
