Nissan Infotainment System

NissanConnect, designed for smartphone users, is now standard on many new Nissan cars. It is comprised of smartphone apps, virtual assistants, GPS navigation, and premium entertainment channels.

NissanConnect Technology improves driving. The NissanConnect infotainment system is your command and control center inside. Some Nissan models come with an eight-inch touchscreen built into the dashboard. If you have more money, you can easily upgrade to a larger multimedia display. For example, the Rogue crossover includes a nine-inch center monitor. The luxury Armada SUV’s interior incorporates a 12.3-inch touchscreen above the dashboard. Most current Nissan infotainment systems also include physical buttons and electronic knobs.

The latest Bluetooth compatibility allows voice control of the NissanConnect multimedia platform. The distinctive infotainment console supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. The NissanConnect suite includes various voice-activated digital assistants. Everyone will enjoy Google Assistant, Siri Eyes Free, Apple CarPlay, and Nissan’s personalized concierge services.

WiFi hotspots in Nissan models increase connectivity for smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Thanks to an AT&T-Nissan partnership, you can enjoy reliable, fast, and cheap internet connections while driving.

Nissan has also developed strong ties to SiriusXM Satellite Radio, as optional SiriusXM Guardian adds a host of useful services and security measures. Travel Link and Traffic Plus are also available via the NissanConnect portal. Some trims have trademark navigation that shows three-dimensional sites in major cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Our CARFAX One-Owner Event is in full swing for the month of August here at Mclarty Daniel Nissan, but what exactly does that mean for you as the consumer?

What is CARFAX anyways?

The CARFAX report summarizes the history of the vehicle since it left the factory. Records come from more than 112,000 different sources, including all U.S. states and Canadian Provincial Automobile Bureaus, police and fire departments, as well as collision repair shops, auto auctions and more!

What can I expect to see on CARFAX reports?

According to carfax.com, The CARFAX database is perhaps the most comprehensive vehicle history database in North America, containing over 13 billion records. Records included in each CARFAX Report reveal important information about a car’s history, such as an odometer reading, existence of a branded title such as a salvage/junk title, or past registration as a fleet vehicle. A CARFAX Report may not include every event in a vehicle’s history, but will include the data that is reported to CARFAX for a specific vehicle identification number (VIN).

More examples of information found in a CARFAX report include:

  • Flood Damage History
  • Lemon History
  • Service Records
  • Total Loss/Accident History
  • Number of Owners
  • State Emissions Inspection Results

Why are the benefits to buying a CARFAX one-owner car?

According to carfax.com, there are several reasons to prefer one-owner cars. For starters, the vehicle is more likely to have complete maintenance records. Oftentimes different people have different approaches to car maintenance. A car with previous owners has a higher chance of encountering a person with less than ideal maintenance habits or even careless driving habits, directly impacting your prospective vehicle.

Next, with a one-owner vehicle, you’re more likely to get the whole story. Some sellers will sell or trade-in their cars once problems arise. If they sell their problematic vehicle to someone else without being honest about the issues, those problems can lead to more significant concerns down the road.

Finally, you get the benefit of buying a one-owner car knowing that fewer people have driven it. Fewer drivers or owners could directly impact your vehicle’s state in terms of condition and cleanliness.

At Mclarty Daniel Nissan, 67% of our used inventory only has one previous owner  meaning you’ll be able to find the perfect vehicle with fewer miles and fewer problems! So, if you’re in the Centerton, Bella Vista, Bentonville, Eureka Springs, Fayetteville, Pea Ridge, Springdale or Rogers area, swing by today and let one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales professionals take it from there!

Nissan ARIYA

Nissan’s ARIYA crossover SUV is the company’s first all-electric vehicle. This is not, however, Nissan’s first electric vehicle. Nissan, with its Leaf hatchback, invented the modern electric vehicle a decade before Tesla became such a tech darling and status symbol.

Nissan is hoping that consumers looking for an all-electric crossover SUV will respond favorably to the ARIYA. This time, Nissan is up against a lot more competition. A plethora of electric SUV rivals are currently available or on the way, from the Tesla Model Y to the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Hyundai Kona EV, not to mention plug-in hybrid SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 Prime. Let us tell you why you should choose the ARIYA over all of those.

The new Nissan ARIYA five-passenger crossover is a battery-powered fully electric vehicle (EV). The ARIYA will come with two battery packs and either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The ARIYA, according to Nissan, will have a maximum range of 300 miles at its best..

For those looking for an electric SUV, the ARIYA is a promising option. It has a sleek exterior and a welcoming yet functional interior, as well as a comprehensive suite of active safety features, including Nissan’s ProPILOT semi-autonomous system with hands-free highway driving.

The Nissan ARIYA’s price point is perhaps the most appealing. Coming in at around $40,000, it’s less expensive than Ford and Tesla rivals. The Nissan ARIYA will be available for purchase in late 2021.

Range

Nissan estimates the ARIYA will have a driving range from 200 to 300 miles with its active battery management system. However, the choice of powertrain layout and drivetrain, which has yet to be announced, will determine the actual driving range of the 2023 Nissan ARIYA.

Performance

The 2023 Nissan ARIYA offers a maximum of 221 lb.-ft. or 443 lb.-ft. of torque output, depending on the configuration. The 2023 Nissan ARIYA also gives the option of the standard front-running drive to the new e-4ORCE all-wheel drive with a single-speed transmission.

Release Date

The 2023 Nissan ARIYA will be released sometime in 2023. More information about this new model will be available as we come closer to the end of the year.

Each year, over 1,235,000 automotive accidents are caused by weather, according to the United States Department of Transportation  Rainfall causes 46 percent of these accidents, and wet pavement causes 70 percent of them. However, driving with a splattered windshield doesn’t have to be an unpleasant or frightening experience. Check out these helpful hints below!

When was the last time your windshield wipers were replaced? Wipers are intended to be replaced every six months, according to several sources. If you let old wipers stay on your vehicle, you’ll have major visibility problems. Visit McLarty Daniel Nissan of Bentonville and talk with our parts department about replacing your windshield wipers.

Plan Ahead

Rainstorms, for the most part, feature peaks and valleys. You’ll note that it rains for a few hours in the morning, then stops for a while before returning later. You can make your commute and stay dry during storms if you pay attention to your weather radar or hourly forecast.

Watch the Brakes

Although rainstorms are usually only temporary, they can cause slippery roads. That is why it is critical to drive gently while maintaining a safe gap between yourself and other road users. When you brake too hard in the rain, you risk hydroplaning (when the car travels without the wheels moving due to a breach in the ground’s surface). In a storm, driving at a slower speed, maintaining a safe distance, and gingerly applying the brakes rather than slamming them can keep you much safer.

Many new cars provide customers with a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems, or ADA. This driving assistance function has recently become a selling point for many potential car buyers. This technology can monitor driver behavior, consider road conditions and vehicle behavior and often warns the driver visually and acoustically in the name of collision avoidance. Some systems even actively brake and take corrective measures to avoid accidental collisions.

Nissan offers the Nissan Safety Shield 360 kit as standard equipment for the following 2021 models: Sentra, Leaf, Maxima, Kicks, Rogue, Rogue Sport and Titan.

Let’s take a look. Safety Shield 360 consists of six parts: automatic high beams, automatic rear braking, front collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic warning and blind-spot warning.

Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection – uses forward-facing radar and camera technology to track vehicles and crossing pedestrians, can give audible and visual warnings and apply braking to help avoid or reduce the severity of frontal collisions.

Lane Departure Warning – can alert the driver of drifting from the lane with a visual warning and audible or haptic signals.

High Beam Assist – automatically switches to low beam headlights when it detects a vehicle ahead and turns the high beams back on when appropriate.

Blind Spot Warning – helps spot vehicles in driver’s blind spot areas.

Rear Cross-Traffic Alert – can warn the driver about detected approaching vehicles when reversing out of a parking spot.

Rear Automatic Braking- helps detect stationary objects when backing up and, if necessary, applies the brakes to help avoid a collision.

While Some drivers are wary of intelligent technologies such as Nissan’s Safety Shield 360, it’s worth noting the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) pointed out the many benefits of ADAS, such as how rear-wheel braking can reduce accidents during reversing by 78% and the combination of reverse cameras and sensors can reduce accidents by 42%.

Whether you just bought a new car or just need to clean out your current vehicle for a while now. Mclarty Daniel Nissan has put together a list that will make tackling your black hole of a glovebox easier and help keep it more organized. Below you’ll find the only three items you should be keeping in your glove box.

Proof of Insurance and Vehicle Registration

This should go without saying, but, in Arkansas keeping proof of current insurance and your vehicle registration is required. Cleaning out your glovebox and keeping both of these essential documents in your vehicle’s glove box ensures you have them whenever asked for them and makes it significantly easier to find them.

Manual

Keeping your vehicle’s manual in the glove box rather than letting it float around your car wherever it might fit ensures that it will be easily accessible if you might ever need it.

Contact Numbers

It’s always a good idea to keep your emergency contact numbers in your car. This could potentially come in handy should you ever be involved in a serious accident. This is also helpful if your phone dies and you can’t remember numbers for your most important contact.

Only keeping the items mentioned above in your car’s glove box ensures you always have them and can find them in a timely manner. Remember, if you want more helpful vehicle tips and tricks, you can always follow our social media pages to ensure you never miss an update from McLarty Daniel Nissan of Bentonville, Arkansas!

Service technician repairing car brakes

The fun never has to stop on your summer getaway, but your vehicle sure does. Perhaps one of the essential features that are often overlooked on a vehicle is its brakes. For you and others to remain safe this summer on the road, you must check how well your brakes are performing. Here at McLarty Daniel Nissan of Bentonville, we’ve put together the top four signs it’s time for new brake pads.

What’s That Sound?

If you happen to hear a sound that resembles grinding metal when engaging your vehicle’s brakes, it’s time to have your brake pads replaced. This is because most modern brake pad manufacturers place metal ridges at the bottom of the brake pad that produce a sound to alert the diver that it’s time to replace their brakes.

Vibration

The second way to determine if it might be time to replace your brake pads is if you’re experiencing a vibrating brake pedal. If it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stop your car or if it feels unsteady as you press down, this means that your brake pads have worn out or even possibly warped.

Your Brake Pads Appear Less Than A ¼ Inch Thick

Another easy way to tell if it’s time to replace your brake pads is to look at them. If you can locate the brake pad on the tire’s rotor and they appear less than a ¼ inch thick, they need to be replaced soon.

You Have a Warning Light

In some modern vehicles, a sensor on the brake pad monitors the level of wear. Once it reaches a certain point, the sensor triggers the light on the dashboard to come on. If this occurs, you might have time left, but you should consider replacing your brakes as soon as possible.

If you’re experiencing any of the above warning signs, you need new brakes while on the roads of Centerton, Bella Vista, Bentonville, Eureka Springs, Fayetteville, Pea Ridge, Springdale or Rogers. Please don’t wait until it’s too late; schedule a brake service appointment at McLarty Daniel Nissan. One of our certified technicians will make sure your brakes and vehicle are safe and road-ready for wherever your summer adventure takes you!
