Your Nissan vehicle is a reliable and valuable investment, and like any investment, it requires regular maintenance to keep it running smoothly and efficiently. Proper maintenance not only extends the lifespan of your Nissan but also ensures your safety on the road. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through essential maintenance tips to help you take care of your Nissan and avoid costly repairs down the road.

Regular Oil Changes

One of the most critical aspects of Nissan maintenance is regular oil changes. Engine oil lubricates moving parts, preventing friction and wear. Follow your Nissan owner’s manual recommendations for oil change intervals, typically every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. Using the recommended oil grade is essential for optimal engine performance and longevity.

Schedule an Oil Change

Check and Replace Air Filters

A clean air filter is essential for maintaining good engine performance and fuel efficiency. Check your air filter regularly and replace it as needed. Typically, it’s a good idea to replace the air filter every 12,000 to 15,000 miles or as specified in your owner’s manual.

Tire Care

Proper tire maintenance is crucial for safety and fuel efficiency. Regularly check tire pressure and ensure it matches the recommended PSI listed in your owner’s manual. Inspect the tires for signs of wear, and rotate them according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Don’t forget to perform regular wheel alignments to prevent uneven tire wear and improve handling.

Brake Inspections

Your brakes are a critical safety component. Inspect your brake pads and discs for wear regularly. If you notice squeaking or grinding noises or reduced braking performance, it’s time to have your brakes checked and potentially replaced. Ignoring brake issues can lead to more extensive and expensive repairs.

Fluid Levels

Regularly check and top up all essential fluids, including coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid and power steering fluid. Low or dirty fluids can lead to engine damage or system failures. Refer to your owner’s manual for recommended intervals and fluid types.

Battery Health

A well-maintained battery ensures your Nissan starts reliably. Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion, and clean them if necessary. If your battery is older than three to five years, consider having it tested for health or replaced to avoid unexpected breakdowns.

Read About Nissan Battery Services

Keep Your Nissan Clean

Regularly wash and wax your Nissan to protect its exterior from environmental elements. Clean the interior to prevent dust and debris from causing wear and tear on surfaces and components. A well-maintained vehicle not only looks better but also retains its value.

Maintain the Cooling System

The cooling system is essential to prevent your engine from overheating. Regularly check the coolant level and condition. If the coolant is low or discolored, flush and replace it following your owner’s manual recommendations.

Pay Attention to Warning Lights

Modern Nissans come equipped with a range of warning lights on the dashboard. If a warning light comes on, don’t ignore it. Address the issue promptly by consulting your owner’s manual or visiting a Nissan service center.

Why Service Your Nissan at McLarty Daniel Nissan

Regular Professional Inspections

While some maintenance tasks can be performed at home, it’s necessary to schedule regular professional inspections and servicing. Nissan-certified technicians have the expertise and equipment to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.

Follow the Owner’s Manual

Your Nissan owner’s manual is a valuable resource. It provides specific maintenance schedules and guidelines tailored to your vehicle’s make and model. Following these recommendations ensures you’re taking the best care of your Nissan.

Be Mindful of Your Driving Habits

Your driving habits can significantly impact your Nissan’s longevity. Avoid aggressive driving, excessive idling and overloading your vehicle. Gentle acceleration and braking can reduce wear and tear on your car’s components.

Regular maintenance is the key to keeping your Nissan running smoothly and reliably for years to come. By following these maintenance tips and staying proactive with your vehicle care, you’ll not only enjoy a trouble-free driving experience but also preserve the value of your Nissan investment.

There are two ways to beat the heat in Arkansas during the summer. You either stay inside with the air conditioning on full blast, or you find a body of water to cool down in. Thankfully, Northwest Arkansas has plenty of public pools and splash pads within driving distance. Come see us at McLarty Daniel Nissan in Bentonville on your way to drop off the kids. Trade in that old model for an updated Nissan car, truck or SUV with brand-new AC.

How to Keep Your Nissan Cool This Summer

Let’s start our tour of local swimming spots in Bentonville with the Bentonville Community Center, which features three indoor pools, including a family leisure pool with a water slide. If you want to be outside, drive your new ‘23 Nissan Altima to the Melvin Ford Aquatic Center. Located in Memorial Park, you can spend your day in the wading pool, a general swimming area or jump off the diving boards.

Drive Safe this Summer in a New Nissan

Maybe you’re out and about on the Bentonville Square and weren’t prepared for a full pool day, but you’d still love to get your feet wet. Visit The Fountains at Lawrence Park and splash around as it’s open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. except on First Fridays. The splash pad features over 80 water jets and plenty of seating for spectators not wanting to enter the splash zone.

If you live in Bella Vista, members of the property owners association have access to three different pools, an indoor pool at the Branchwood Recreation Center and two outdoor pools at Kingsdale and Metfield. Load up your friends in your 2023 Nissan Rogue and take them swimming. Guests of POA members are welcome for a minimal fee, and all pools are available to rent for private parties.

Heading to Rogers next, we’ll drive our new ‘23 Nissan Murano to the Rogers Aquatic Center. The name doesn’t do this place justice. It’s a small-scale water park complete with tall tube slides, a competition pool, a leisure pool, shallow play pools and a lazy river. Daily passes, as well as season passes, are available. Like Bentonville, if you’re not looking for a full day at the water park, you can stop by downtown Rogers and visit their splash pad at Railyard Park.

As we make our way across Benton County, our 2023 Nissan Titan will take us over the border to Washington County for our next stop. The Jones Center for Families in Springdale is open year-round with several different-sized indoor pools, one with a wrap-around slide. Another option is the Springdale Aquatic Center, with four pools, including an Olympic-sized pool. If you’re looking for a place to learn to swim, they offer lessons all summer long.

If you live in Fayetteville, you can pull your new ‘23 Nissan Pathfinder into Wilson Park Pool and Splash Pad, the only public pool in the city. Check the schedule for open, family, and adult lap swim so you can maximize your pool time this summer.

Another fun spot to visit in your 2023 Nissan Ariya is Siloam Springs. While they have their own Siloam Springs Family Aquatic Center with three pools, high dives and waterslides, the city also has a unique kayak park. The Siloam Springs Kayak Park is free and offers all skill levels of kayakers access to the Illinois River. In addition to kayaking, canoes and innertubes are acceptable. There’s also a family swimming area with seating, picnic tables and a paved parking lot for the non-kayakers out there.

Maybe you’re not feeling that adventurous and want something a little calmer. If you’re looking for a place not so crowded, you might try driving your ‘23 Nissan Frontier to Gravette, Prairie Grove or Pea Ridge. These smaller communities also have public pools or splash pads, open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Keep it cool this summer in a new Nissan or one of our used cars, trucks, SUVs or vans at McLarty Daniel Nissan off Moberly Lane. Use that remote start to get your car started, crank the AC to full blast and make your way to the nearest swimming hole. Since you can’t beat the heat, you might as well join it and take advantage of all the aquatic centers NWA has to offer. Happy summer, and stay cool.

Gas prices got you down? All your money going to fill up your tank? Maybe it’s time to consider an electric vehicle. While the idea of an EV sounds great, drivers are used to what they know, which is gas-powered cars, trucks, SUVs & vans. Maybe it’s time you left your gas tank on E and filled up your bank account. Plug into a Nissan EV, available now at McLarty Daniel Nissan off Moberly Lane in Bentonville.

Learn How Electric Cars Work

More and more drivers are turning to EVs as an alternative to gas-guzzlers. Some people consider the environment as a driving factor in making the switch. Others are looking at it from an economic standpoint. The idea of never paying for gas again sounds too good to be true. But the reality is, once you make the switch, you’ll start to discover for yourself that maybe an EV is your answer.

Nissan currently offers two EV models, the Ariya and the LEAF. In the past, there have been very few electric cars on the market to choose from. The EV landscape is changing due to public demand for electric vehicles that have everything a gas-powered car has to offer. As the great Hannah Montana once said, “it’s the best of both worlds.”

While some manufacturers are just now starting to throw their hats in the ring, Nissan has been in the electrified game for quite some time. Nissan’s first electric car, the LEAF, debuted in 2010 as an alternative to the Toyota Prius. So what does the LEAF stand for? Leading Environmentally-friendly Affordable Family car. That’s a mouthful, so we understand why Nissan shortened the name. Plus, LEAF is kinda cute, especially since it’s also a nod to Mother Nature.

Let’s take a closer look at the LEAF and see if this might be the EV you’ve been searching for. Classified as a hatchback, it starts at $28,040 and comes in two different trim levels, the S and SV Plus. What’s the difference between them? The SV gets 149 MPGe (miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent), while the SV Plus battery gives you a longer charge so you can drive up to 212 miles. You also won’t be missing out on any of the features you’re used to in our other Nissan models. The LEAF has ProPILOT Assist, Intelligent Around View Monitor and Intelligent Driver Alertness.

What is Nissan ProPILOT Assist?

The newest EV to the Nissan family is the Ariya, a crossover with a standard range of 304 miles that also packs a punch with an acceleration of 0-60 in 7.2 seconds and 238 horsepower. There are four trim levels available with different batteries that can increase your acceleration speed of 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and provide up to 389 horsepower.

Since not everyone is interested in those types of details, let’s talk about the inside. Experience sound isolation, which blocks out all the outside noises. Enjoy heated seats and steering wheel as well as climate-controlled front seats. You’ll also get ProPILOT Assist 2.0 and ProPILOT Park, as well as safety features like Intelligent Rear View Mirror and Front and Rear Sonar System.

We know what you’re thinking. Both of these EVs are great choices, and all of this sounds well and good, but what about charging the vehicles? Nissan’s already ahead of you. They’ve partnered with EVgo, one of the nation’s largest networks of public fast chargers. This program provides access to complimentary charging stations to people purchasing or leasing a new Nissan EV. If buying or leasing a LEAF, you’ll get $100 EVgo charging credits, while Ariya qualifying customers will receive one year of unlimited charging.

What’s the Difference Between Level 1, Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers for EVs?
